Beat & Patrol Department

The Beat and Patrol Department is the frontline section of the service. It consists of thirty (30) Constables divided into four shifts, supervised by four Sergeants respectively and managed by one Inspector. These are your first responders… to
 
  • Protect Life
  • Protect Property
  • Enforce all Laws

 

 

The core responsibilities of the Beat & Patrol Department;
 
  • Detection and Prevention
  • Investigation
  • Intelligence Collection
  • Community Policing
  • Assit in Prosecution

The duties of the Beat and Patrol involve; 

  • Investigation of offences
  • The regulation of traffic and crowd control duties at all events
  • Community and intelligence-led  policing
  • Traffic Enforcement
  • Care and custody of prisoners
  • Issuance of Temporary Drivers Licences
 
Beat & Patrol officers are encouraged to utilize both Community Policing strategies and Intelligence Led Policing ideas while carrying out their duties to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
