Court Orderly

Upper page: Support Policing

Our Court Services personnel, or Court Orderly’s, are Police Officers dedicated to the Magistrate and High Court for security and assistance. Their primary role is security; however they also assist Court Officials with routine matters as well as the Prison with custody escorts. When Court is not sitting, these Officers are likely in your community trying to locate persons required to attend court either as an accused person or as a witness.

Note: Court Official Drives / Security, such as the traditional driver assigned to a visiting Judge, does not fall under the job description of a Court Orderly. These driver / security services are not the responsibility of the RMPS. The Court Registrar must make an application for “Special Duty” before these services can be confirmed.
